Marie Le Dantec

COMMUNICATION AND OUTREACH OFFICER

Marie Le Dantec is a scientist and a visual communication designer. She obtained her engineering degree in micro- and nanotechnologies from Phelma Grenoble INP (joint degree with Politecnico di Torino and EPFL) in 2013. She earned her PhD from EMPA/EPFL in 2018, focused on cracks and microstructure control during additive manufacturing of silicon pillars from silicon powders. In parallel with her doctoral studies, she started taking evening courses in illustration and desktop publishing at the Schule für Gestaltung Bern and Biel in 2017. After graduating her PhD, she decides to pursue a Master of Arts in Visual Communication at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2021. She developed several multidisciplinary projects on the child protection system, especially children’s books, together with the association Particip’Action in 2020 and 2021, and developed her own creative activity. Since 2022, she works as an Outreach Officer for the NCCR SPIN at the University of Basel.
