The University of Basel launches a new “Knowledge Box” on physics!

NCCR SPIN is happy to showcase the launch of the new “Knowledge Box” (Wissenbox in German) of the Outreach program at the University of Basel. This Knowledge Box is entitled "Physics - wave, particle or both?”, and NCCR SPIN is proud to have contributed to its development through the participation of Dr. Taras Patlatiuk.

With the knowledge boxes, the pupils of elementary schools in Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft can discover exciting science topics in a playful and practical way during two school lessons, accompanied by young scientists from the University of Basel. The core objective of the program is to immerse the students in the fascinating world of science and to enable them to participate in it.

With the knowledge box "Physics - wave, particle or both?” they will be able to develop scientific curiosity and set of mind. The box offers insight to the students on what is the size of an atom. The students will also learn about the properties and distribution patterns of particles, the properties and movement patterns of waves, and the so-called wave-particle duality in an interactive way.

If you are a teacher, don’t hesitate to get in touch through the website of the University of Basel.
