SPIN Mobility Program

The NCCR SPIN places emphasis on the promotion of young researchers and envisages measures to increase the appeal of a scientific career. The SPIN Mobility Program encourages PhD students and Postdocs to stay in other research groups within the NCCR SPIN network and outside the network (at the national level and globally) to improve their scientific profiles and develop new expertise in the field of qubits. 

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.

Our Mobility Grants in short

  • Swiss Mobility Grant

    • For PhD students and Postdocs

    • From Switzerland to Switzerland

    • For a stay between 1 week and 3 months in a host team in Switzerland

    • 1000 CHF/month if your host institution is not in the same canton as your home institution

    • 500 CHF/month if your host institution is in the same canton as your home institution

    Conditions and Application

  • International Mobility Grant

    • For PhD students and Postdocs

    • From Switzerland to abroad and vice versa

    • For a stay in a host team between 2 weeks and 4 months

    • 1600 CHF/month + 200 CHF/family member + up to 2000 CHF of travel costs (one round trip) if your home institution is outside of Switzerland

    Conditions and Application

  • Internship Mobility Grant

    • For non-SPIN Master students

    • For a stay in a SPIN lab between 3 weeks and 9 months

    • 800 CHF/month if your home institution is in Switzerland

    • 1200 CHF/month + up to 2000 CHF of travel costs (one round trip) if your home institution is outside of Switzerland

  • Connect Mobility Grant

    • For international visitors who want to do a short stay within an NCCR SPIN team
    • For a stay of maximum 2 weeks
    • Up to 5000 CHF, subject to budget availability

    Conditions and Application

  • Industry Internship Grant

    • For PhD students and Postdocs in the NCCR SPIN network
    • For a stay from 3 to 9 months in one of the teams of Quantum Basel
    • Up to 1’600 CHF per month paid directly to the awardee
