Candidates

 

The NCCR SPIN Swiss Mobility Grant is aimed at doctoral students and postdocs:

  • who are members of the NCCR SPIN and wish to stay in a different institution in Switzerland for up to 3 months

    or

  • who are non-SPIN members whose home institution is in Switzerland and wish to stay in a NCCR SPIN team for up to 3 months

The stay should be of 1 week minimum.

Award

 

If your home institution is in the same canton as your host institution (e.g. IBM Zurich and ETHZ):

  • 500 CHF/month paid directly to the awardee for a stay up to 3 months.

If your home institution is in a different canton than your host institution (e.g. EPFL and ETHZ):

  • 1000 CHF/month paid directly to the awardee for a stay of up to 3 months

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis

Applications are to be submitted to Maria.longobardi@unibas.ch

Required documents:

  • CV (curriculum vitae)

  • Motivation letter including research goals

  • Letter of acceptance from the home institution supervisor

  • Letter from the host institution supervisor

All documents should be in English.

Selection

 

Selection is made on a competitive and rolling basis. The selected candidates are asked to confirm their venue within 2 weeks. Otherwise, the award may be attributed to another candidate.

Selected candidates are asked to start their stay in the host team at the NCCR SPIN within 6 months after confirmation of receiving the grant.

Payment of the award money is subject to the ongoing activity of the research project.

The funding will be prorated according to the length of the stay.

Travel costs of the awardee for typically one round trip (economy fare) to the home institution will be covered by NCCR SPIN (up to 2’000 CHF).

Accommodation, visa and other fees, etc. are to be paid by the awardee. 

The award is granted only to selected applicants who have completed enrolment at their home university.
