NCCR SPIN
Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting is a central event within the NCCR SPIN community, bringing together young researchers, principal investigators, and collaborators from across the network. It provides a unique platform to exchange scientific results, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster a shared research culture in spin-based quantum computing.
Each year, the meeting gathers participants from all partner institutions to present recent progress, discuss emerging ideas, and connect across different research areas – from theory and materials to device engineering and quantum algorithms.
Scientific Exchange and Interdisciplinary Topics
The program features a broad range of scientific sessions that reflect the diversity of the network. Key topics typically include:
❋ Qubit technologies and quantum device architectures ❋ Materials science and device engineering ❋ Quantum algorithms and multi-qubit operations ❋ Theoretical concepts and novel approaches in quantum computingThrough talks, discussions, and poster sessions, young researchers have the opportunity to present their work, receive feedback, and engage in in-depth scientific exchange with peers and senior scientists.
Innovation, Art & Science, and Community
Beyond scientific presentations, the Annual Meeting highlights the broader mission of NCCR SPIN: fostering innovation, creativity, and collaboration.
Innovation sessions showcase start-ups and technology transfer initiatives bridging academic research and real-world applications.
The Art & Science programme invites participants to explore quantum science through creative formats, including visual art and performance.
Interactive and team-based activities encourage informal exchange and strengthen the sense of community within the network.
These elements help create a dynamic environment where scientific thinking meets creativity and collaboration.
Community in the Alps
The meeting is typically held in an inspiring alpine setting, such as Pontresina in the Engadin valley. The location offers space for both focused scientific discussion and informal exchange, including outdoor activities that foster connection beyond the conference setting.
