Candidates

 

The NCCR SPIN CONNECT program aims to connect and facilitate exchange and networking between the NCCR SPIN community and the international community of researchers working in quantum computing and related fields, including both academia and industry.

This short-term visit program welcomes international visitors who wish to give a talk and/or explore potential collaborations with the NCCR SPIN network. We encourage visitors to stay for several days to facilitate also visiting another SPIN location.

The maximum length of stay is 2 weeks.

Please note that visitors will not receive a contract of employment.

The program is open year-round and is available to visitors from anywhere in the world, subject to budget availability.

Award

 
  • The visitor will be reimbursed for the travel costs (economy fare)

  • NCCR SPIN will provide accommodation and subsistence during the stay

  • The maximum budget for each short visit is 5K CHF, subject to availability

Application procedure

Applications are to be submitted to Maria.longobardi@unibas.ch

Required documents:

  • CV (curriculum vitae) of the visitor

  • Letter from the host team including purpose of the stay

All documents should be in English.

Selection

 

Selection is made on a competitive and on a rolling basis. The selected candidates are asked to confirm their travel within 2 weeks. Otherwise, the award may be attributed to another candidate.

Selected candidates are asked to start their stay in the host team at NCCR SPIN within 6 months after the attribution of the grant.

Payment of the award money is subject to the ongoing activity of the research project.

The funding will be prorated according to the length of the stay.

Accommodation, visa and other fees, etc. are to be paid by the awardee. 

Please note that visitors are expected to be under contract from the home institution and will not receive a contract of employment from SPIN.
