The INSPIRE Potentials soar to new heights

Our traditional INSPIRE Potentials summer hike was taken to new heights as our ladies’ crew met up at Harder Kulm, near Interlaken. All of them took the cable car and reached the top at around 11am, in good time to have a coffee together surrounded by the breathtaking view of both lake Brienz and lake Thun and their crown of mountains. No better way to (re)wake up after a long train journey! The team - Viktoriia, Yang, Xinru, Lisa and Ekaterina – was complete when Jelena Klinovaja joined them for the summit meeting.

After taking a moment to drink it all in – both the landscape and the coffee –, the crew went on to hike the Harder Kulm Rundweg. They found a convenient spot on the way to have a picnic, still soaking in mountain views. Indeed, with the absence of clouds, the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau joined the party too.

At the end of the trail, the group took the cable car down the mountain and a chill walk in Interlaken – cooling off with an ice cream while moseying along the Aare. Next, they decided to cruise across the lake Thun by boat, traveling from Interlaken West to Faulensee. They hopped off the boat to take a walk on the lake side, under the trees, up to the dock of Spiez. The path was calm and shaded, perfect for a slow stroll and a conversation. With the clock striking 5pm, it was time for everyone to get on the train back to their respective homes.

The INSPIRE Potentials outings are designed for the current and alumni INSPIRE Potentials Master’s students of the NCCR SPIN to meet, network and be able to talk about their experience. Thank you to everyone who joined the hike and made this moment fun and pleasant!
